QC Industrial Engineer

The QC Industrial Engineer will play a pivotal role in analyzing and optimizing our manufacturing processes, with a primary focus on quality control and standard costing and variance analysis. This position requires close collaboration with the finance team to reconcile material usage, ensure accuracy in SAP Bill of Materials and routings, and maintain acceptable levels of material and labor variances.  The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, proficiency in SAP, and a Green or Black Belt certification in Six Sigma methodologies.

Essential Functions:

Implement and support a process of continuous improvement to achieve the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction at competitive costs.   

Determine the most cost-effective ways to use the basic factors of production – people, machines, supplies/materials, information and energy to make the company’s products. Analyze monthly leading and lagging performance metrics and recommend process changes to ensure the organization objectives in the areas of quality, cost and productivity are on plan.

Analyze customer complaints related with quality, lead the root cause analysis and the corrective action processes, finalize the complaint in operations.

Work closely with the Quality and IE Manager, production teams, and leadership to ensure quality standards are met consistently.

Utilize statistical tools and software, such as Minitab, to analyze process data and make data-drive decisions.

Develop, implement, and maintain standard costing systems to accurately reflect production costs.

Conduct in-depth analysis of actual costs versus standard costs; identify and investigate variances and recommend corrective actions.

This position requires on-stie presence at our manufacturing facility in Marion, North Carolina. The role involves working in both office and production floor settings, with occasional exposure to manufacturing equipment and processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field.

Manufacturing background – preferably in Textiles.

Advanced interpersonal relationship skills at a variety of levels and greatly differing social and business settings.  Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.

Extensive knowledge of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing tools – Six Sigma Certification is preferred.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment; textile industry experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA (Master of Business Administration)

Textile Engineering Background

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

Knowledge of SAP, particularly in modules related to production and costing.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Proficient utilization of Minitab.

Lean manufacturing knowledge with proven understanding and successful applications of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
